Kingswood 2014

On Friday 13th June, off we went once more the the Kingswood centre at West Runton in Norfolk. The coach journey lasted around four and a half hours. That’s a really long time if you’re ten years old and looking forward to a weekend of fun and excitement. Take a look at photos which show the coach journey and arrival at the Kingswood centre. ‘Bushcraft’ involved our children learning how to light fires using only flint and stone and how to craft tools using a knife. This is the first time we’ve ever done this activity and it proved to be interesting for both the children and also the Kitwell staff.

‘Leap of Faith’ required the children (and staff) to overcome a fear of heights. Kitwell children are good at being resilient in the face of difficult situations and were available to prove this in a spectacular manner.

On Saturday afternoon we spent a couple of hours exploring the beautiful Norfolk coastline. There were rock and crabs a-plenty and we even had time to drop into the local gift shop for an ice cream!

Kitwell children spent a lot of time dangling in the air whilst on their Kingswood weekend in Norfolk. Here are photos of our children climbing and abseiling. Some of the photos are a little bit fuzzy because it rained during our very last activity. A weekend of fun and excitement can be very tiring and this can also be seen in this set of photos.

The Mini-Olympics involved running with fast arms and slow legs, losing trainers and laying eggs. If that doesn’t make the whole thing perfectly clear then ask the children if you want to know more. Here are the photos!
