Young Voices 2012
The Kitwell Choir, along with around six thousand children from schools across the country, performed in the ‘Young Voices 2012’ concert at the LG Arena. They were lucky enough to perform with the African Children’s Choir who sang in Gary Barlow’s Commonwealth ‘Sing’ song.

Year 5 and 6 Performance
For their end of year production, our Year 5 and 6 children performed ‘Pirates of the Curry Bean’ to our parents. Much fun was had by all and everyone of the children performed brilliantly in this lively (and windy!) performance.
Fund Raising for Makumbaya
As part of Kitwell’s ongoing links with Makumbaya Lower Basic School in the Gambia, West Africa. Kitwell children have been involved in lots of fundraising activities to help support our Gambia friends. Mrs Mistry’s class made lots of Gambian style artwork from recycled materials which they sold to parents on the Gambia stall at the Summer Fayre. Class 1 children also made Gambian style jewellery which, along with plants and flowers which Mr Bassett helped our children grow in the greenhouse, were also sold on our Gambian stall. Thanks must go to all the parents who supported our Gambian stall by buying all of our home made goods!
‘Party In The Playground’
As part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Kitwell children took part in a ‘Party in the Playground’. There was fun, frolics, food and even a brass band. Take a look at our children celebrating in their best Red, White and Blue!

Our Year and 4 children told their version of the Easter story in a play entitled ‘The Sonflower’. Flowery fun was had by all and the costumes in particular (the sunflowers) were wonderful.
World Book Day 2012
There were Harry Potters, Oliver Twists, Horrid Henrys and fairy princesses a-plenty as Kitwell children dressed up as characters from books for the 2012 World Book Day.
‘World Book Day’ past and present…
It’s World Book Day on Thursday 1st March. Don’t forget to come to school dressed up as your favourite book character.
Everyone at Kitwell will be given a voucher entitling them to have £1 off a specially chosen selection of World Book Day books. Remind your teacher to give them out.
