Last Day of Term

September 2, 2011 Leave a comment

The last day of term was a time for our Year 6 children to look back at their many years at Kitwell and also to look forward to their future school careers. It was also a time for us to say farewell to members of staff who are about to embark on new careers in new schools. Here are a few photos from our last day of term in July 2011.

Dads, Dads and more Dads!

August 23, 2011 1 comment

We invited all the Dads to come into school and work with their children for an afternoon. We got more than we bargained for. Dads, Grandads, Uncles and more (even a few mums slipped in un-noticed) all came and spent a great afternoon working alongside their children.

‘Kitwell’s Got Talent’

It’s been a long time coming…but the ‘Kitwell’s Got Talent’ Competition finally took place shortly before Christmas. And Kitwell children certainly do have talent…lots of it! Dancing, singing, instrument playing, martial arts and gymnastics were just a few of the skills on display during this exciting competition. Simon, Louis, Danni and Cheryl even turned up to help with the judging (probably).

This year, the ‘Young Voices’ concert moved from the National Indoor Arena to the LG Arena at the National Exhibition Centre. And after many weeks of intensive rehearsals, the Kitwell Choir were once again ready to perform with five thousand other children. But this year, not only were our children going to be performing for their parents, but they were also going to be performing live to five millions viewers on the BBC’s ‘The One Show’.

With the unusual November blast of Arctic air came the first proper snowfall of the Winter. Naturally, our children wanted to rush outside and take advantage of our first real Wintery snap. Here are some photos of their frosty exploits!
