July 2013 was the time when yet another era ended and our oldest class left us. Our Year 6 children sang and told stories of their favourite memories at Kitwell. Take a look at photos from their final assembly. Excuse me, for a second, I think I have something in my eye…

‘Concert for Africa 2012 – The Makumbaya Project’

February 24, 2013 Leave a comment

As part of our continued support for Makumbaya Lower Basic School in the Gambia, West Africa, the Kitwell choir held their second ‘Concert for Africa’ at Newman University College Chapel. There was superb singing, a brilliant brass ensemble (courtesy of our brass teacher Mr. Douglas) and a star soloist guitar player. We also held a raffle and thanks must go to all parties who donated prizes. Special thanks must go to Mark Main of Clark IT who regularly supports us in raffle related events. All of the money raised on this evening will go towards Kitwell’s quest to complete the building of a library in Makumbaya Lower Basic School.

‘Kitwell’s Got Talent’

It’s been a long time coming…but the ‘Kitwell’s Got Talent’ Competition finally took place shortly before Christmas. And Kitwell children certainly do have talent…lots of it! Dancing, singing, instrument playing, martial arts and gymnastics were just a few of the skills on display during this exciting competition. Simon, Louis, Danni and Cheryl even turned up to help with the judging (probably).

‘Whoops-a-daisy Angel’

Our Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception) children have performed their Christmas Play. It’s called ‘Whoops-a-daisy Angel’. It tells the Nativity story from the point of view of a VERY clumsy angel. Our youngest children performed their play for the school and then twice more for the parents. Each time, it got better and better!

‘The Rocky Monster Show’

The end of term saw the Year 5s and 6s give another spectacular Summer performance. This year’s production was called ‘The Rocky Monster Show’ and was so good even the parents stood up to sing and dance in the final song.
